I was approached by an awesome writer friend about participating in the Blog Hop. I'm excited. I'm thrilled. I'm... wondering what is a blog hop? Sounds fun. I mean, back in the day we used to have sock hops. Yeeeah. I am really showing my age. Sock hops were fun. Maybe a blog hop is blogging in your socks. No? Oh, well in that case it must be one author blogging answers to cool questions then passing it along to the next five authors they invite until... the whole world is buzzing!!!!! Are you ready? In this blog hop, my fellow authors, in their respective blogs, and I have answered ten questions about our book or work-in-progress (giving you a sneak peek). 1: What is the working title of your book? AVENGER
 
2: Where did the idea come from for the book? It is book three in the Halfling Series, so the idea began quite a while back when I started wondering how a group of half angel teenagers would fit in today’s society. They are misfits. They don’t belong anywhere, yet they have amazing powers and are sent to help people. I love a good misfit story.
 
3: What genre does your book come under? I would call it paranormal YA. It has a lot of suspense (yes, even more than the first two books in the series) and of course, there is a romance.
 
4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? Wow, I have no idea. Seriously. I’ve tried and tried to put these characters in someone else’s skin and I have yet to be able to do it. A lot of fanlings have made suggestions. (You can find some of those here on the Halflings Network.)
 
5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Captured by the evil Damon Vessler, Nikki must choose to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the half-angel beings she’s come to love.
 
6: Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency? The Halfling Series is published by Zondervan which is part of Harper Collins Publishing. I have an amazing team at my publishing house. I absolutely adore them!
 
7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? AVENGER took me quite a while because I was on book tour while working on it. I suppose the first draft took around three months to get it on paper. Then, the real work began. J
 
8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Some people have compared it to Hush, Hush and other stories with teen angels. It was also compared to James Patterson’s Maximum Ride series which was REALLY cool for me because I’m a huge fan of Max.  It has also been compared to Twilight.
 
9: Who or what inspired you to write this book? I’ve always been intrigued by a verse in the Bible that talks about the “sons of God” taking the “daughters of men” as wives. For a fiction writer, that’s just too juicy to pass up!
 
10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? Halflings is being considered for a movie and the screenplay is being written now by a screenwriter in Hollywood. That’s pretty cool.

Me too! :) It looks like a Halflings movie could actually happen. Right now the project is with Vast Entertainment and Mosaic Pictures has signed on. That's all I know at this point, but it is one step closer to the big screen. Of course, you will all be the first to know so keep checking the Halflings network. :)

Cool! What does he do?

Hes a stunt man. Builds lots of vehicles that hold the cameras to film chase scenes also. We arent biologically related but hes one of those people (like damon) who just is adopted into our family.
